AUDITIONS

Esther’s Follies, Austin’s #1 Comedy Troupe, is seeking experienced male and female performers with a strong sense of comedic timing and ability to sing harmonies. Actors with the ability to impersonate pop-culture/political figures, who have comedic writing skills, and the ability to read music are a plus.  All ethnicities, especially performers of color are strongly encouraged to submit.

Esther’s performs five shows weekly; Thursdays at 8pm with two shows Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm & 10pm.  Performers must be able to attend rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 12-3pm and must be at least 18 years old.  This is a PAID position, salary will be commensurate with experience.

If invited to audition:

Please be prepared to sing between 30 seconds and one minute of a song of your choosing, does not have to be comedic.  Note this will be sung acapella or with a recorded track provided by you.

​

In addition, a 3 - 5 minute monologue, with comedy influence, should be prepared highlighting your acting abilities.  Monologues should also show your skills in; movement, impersonations/characters, political satire, basic dance, & if possible comedic writing skills. 

​

Auditioners should dress comfortably, bring all costumes, props, and instrumental tracks necessary for their audition.
